Will Paula End the Madness?
"Congratulations are due to Paula Bennett and Tariana Turia for gaining the Social Welfare portfolio," said Peter Osborne, Libertarianz Social Welfare Spokesman, today.
"I hope they understand the seriousness of the responsibility bestowed upon them. After all, along with state enforced education it is one of the policy areas that has caused more damage to human existence than any other portfolio."
He says, "While the idea of compulsory welfarism was most likely well meaning it is easy to imagine that it was designed to inextricably bond humanity to government control. It must now be considered one of the worst initiatives ever to be forced upon the civilized world. If ever there were a policy designed to reduce the vast potential of human existence to a pointless, self centered existence of nothingness, this is it."
"With this in mind I can only hope that Ms Bennett and Ms Turia set about untangling the chain that is compulsory welfarism and open the way for voluntary charities to undertake this role. This would allow each individual who wishes to become involved to do so with an opportunity to gain some kind of meaningful value out of the situation, whether it is the provider or the receiver."
Mr Osborne concludes, "Libertarianz has a transitional strategy designed to make this process as painless as possible, and we invite Paula and Tariana to make use of this."
"This could be the first step towards New Zealanders enjoying more freedom and less government."
