Companies Office release new mobile search service

Press release
Companies Office release new mobile search services

18 February 2009

The Companies Office has announced the launch of two new mobile search services, which allow members of the public to use their mobile phone to search for company directors’ details as well as for the current list of banned directors.

Companies Office Group Manager Justin Hygate said the introduction of the new services would complement the existing company register search.

``We decided to extend our mobile search functions, because our initial search service proved to be very popular with New Zealand businesses’’, says Mr Hygate.

Mobile search services were first introduced in September 2008, allowing people to search the Companies Office register for a company’s details from their mobile phone. Since then an average of 9,000 mobile searches are performed each month.

Companies Office Mobile is available at http://m.companies.govt.nz from your internet enabled mobile device.
