Does National expect people over 65 to Give Up?

Media Release.

“Does the National Party expect people over 65 to just give up?”

• First they consider removing the education tertiary allowance for over 65 year olds.

• Then they block an enquiry into whether older New Zealanders were receiving the health care they are entitled to.

• Just to make things even worse they decide that women should not be entitled to equal pay; and there are many older people in the work force these days.

For these older people continuing in work it is an absolute necessity to receive the education needed if they wish keep their jobs.

Many over 65’s continue with education to enable them to help with all types of volunteer work, and it is a fact that without these workers New Zealand would be a much worse place to live in.

This country needs the skills these people have attained over the years and to keep working at what they love they take it upon themselves to update and continue their education.

To take all this away from them is not only morally wrong it is Ageism.
We say good on them for thinking life is worth living to the full!
