British Minister speaks in Wellington on Climate Change.


The British Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Chris Bryant will make a key speech on Climate Change when he is in Wellington on Friday the 31st.

Mr Bryant will be speaking to a business audience on “Low Carbon: High Potential “ and arguing the case that the United Kingdom’s ambitious emissions targets are an opportunity for economic growth and essential for business development in the UK.

The UK government has passed the Climate Change Act which commits Britain to 5 yearly carbon budgets delivering an over–arching targets of reducing reductions by at least 80 per cent by 2050.

In the 2009 budget the British government provided an additional £1.4 billion to support the low carbon economy .
