Kiwi teens have their say on referendum
Kiwi teens have their say on referendum
Although they are too young to vote in the Citizens Initiated Referendum, three Kiwi teens are still having their say.
The Wellington High School students -- aged between 15 and 17 -- are included in a new two-minute video released by the UN Children's Fund.
In the video, Kiri (16) says: "It's really important for the adults to vote yes because it's us as children, as young people, that it's going to be affecting."
Rosa (17) says voting yes in the referendum "is about sending a message that New Zealand doesn't support child abuse".
"This is less about a law change than it is about an attitude change," says Bea (15).
The video also includes comment from UNICEF Executive Director Dennis McKinlay.
