Save the Children Week – Win great prizes while hosting a Tea Party

For immediate release
21 September 2009

It’s countdown to Save the Children’s annual appeal with only one week until New Zealanders around the country host Tea Parties to support Save the Children’s development programmes in New Zealand and around the world. New Zealanders love to come together and ‘have a cuppa’ and this year’s Save the Children Week gives everyone the excuse to do so while supporting an important cause at the same time.

New Zealanders also have the chance to be in to win a Volkswagen Cross Polo, a Hot Spring spa pool or return flights to Samoa by purchasing a Save the Children lottery ticket at just $5 per ticket. Order forms for tickets can be found at Save the Children’s website www.savethechildren.org.nz.

You can help create positive changes in children’s lives by hosting a tea party for your friends and family, or buying a lottery ticket, while spreading the word about Save the Children’s work in your communities. To become a Tea Party host just visit www.teaparty.co.nz to sign up, or nominate a friend to be a host instead. Everyone who signs up to host a Tea Party will receive a free party pack with some helpful supplies from Twinings and Chelsea Sugar to get you started.

Raising money from every cup of tea poured, and from every lottery ticket sold, will greatly support children and their communities that need it the most. It might seem too simple, but simple actions in our everyday lives can make a big difference for others.
