Ministry of Justice comment on industrial action
A statement from the Ministry of Justice in relation to ongoing industrial action:
The Ministry remains committed to settling the current industrial dispute.
The Ministry is a lean organisation that has already implemented a restructure this year as part of an existing programme to improve service effectiveness and productivity. We have told the PSA we are keen to involve them in that ongoing programme.
The Ministry has made a realistic offer which the PSA has declined to put to staff.
We have talked to the PSA about getting back around the table, but so far they have not pursued this option. The Ministry would, of course, expect industrial action to stop for this to occur.
In the meantime the Ministry will continue to manage industrial action to minimise as far as possible the impact on court users.
These comments can be attributed to District Courts General Manager Tony Fisher.
Kind regards,
