Comedian addresses problem gambling

Canadian stand-up comedian and therapeutic humourist, Paul Pringle, will be presenting at the 2010 International Gambling Conference being held at Auckland’s Crowne Plaza Hotel this week.

Paul Pringle has had his own struggle with a gambling addiction and his presentation, entitled AH-Ha Ha Ha’s – Gaining new perspectives through the use of humour, will highlight how humour helped him in his healing process.

The presentation is a humorous view on the process of addiction, relationships and other life issues and Paul’s abstract states how he put his own struggles and healing to the forefront and used these experiences to demonstrate how humour can put a different perspective on events.

Paul Pringle will present at the conference on Thursday 25 February at 12.40pm in Elliott Room 3, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Auckland.

The 2010 International Gambling Conference, Gambling in the 21st Century - the Implications of Technology for Policy, Practice and Research, is being held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Auckland, 24 to 26 February.

The conference is hosted by The Problem Gambling Foundation of New Zealand, the Gambling and Addictions Research Centre of Auckland University of Technology, and Hapai Te Hauora Tapui Maori Public Health.

Over 200 delegates are at the conference from around New Zealand and 14 overseas countries, including Australia, Canada, USA, Singapore, Finland, The Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
