Commonwealth Needs to Listen
Commonwealth Needs to Listen
“The members and supporters of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCNZ) insist that it is now time that the Commonwealth listens, engages and reaches out to our good neighbor Fiji so that the Pacific nations, Fiji and we all can move forward peacefully, socially and economically” Alton Shameem JP, the Fijian leader and president said today in Takapuna, North Shore City, Auckland the City of Word Rugby Cup 2011.
“The Commonwealth needs to learn and comprehend from President Barack Obama, the recipient of Nobel Peace Prize the art of engaging, listening and reaching out to nations so that we all participate in peaceful nation building for the greater good of all and for future generations to come” Alton Shameem the founder and chairman of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCNZ) said.
“Even our New Zealand government is now beginning to comprehend the concept of engagement, dialogue, listening and reaching out to other nations as so prudently advocated and more importantly practiced by the visionary President Barack Obama. The bullying tactics and blatant refusal to listen by Commonwealth towards Fiji is counterproductive, and will lead to chaos and mayhem to our peaceful, loving and friendly Fijian neighbors as they passionately desire to live peacefully and move forward, and not held back by organizations like the Commonwealth that arrogantly refuse to listen, understand and engage.
“It is good to
see that our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sport &
Recreation/Rugby World Cup Honorable Murray McCully,
suggesting this week the progressive measure for Fiji to
establishing an honorary Consul in Auckland, Both the New
Zealand and Fiji governments have now raised the bar for the
Commonwealth and Australia government to follow and lift
their heads from the buried sands like ostrich do. Alton
Shameem the Fijian and New Zealand community leader
said.
“Now is the time to the lift the ban
against our Fijian brothers and sisters participating in the
Commonwealth games, and all rugby players regardless of
their affiliations to the peacekeepers the Fiji military
organization to play in Rugby World Cup 2011 in Auckland the
City of Sports” the Fijian leader and president of Fiji
Club of New Zealand (FCNZ) – Bringing Communities Together
