Anton Oliver humbly declines Cannabis Party

The Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party today announced that they have formally invited ex-All Black Anton Oliver to stand for the party. Oliver is considering his options after signaling his intention to enter politics.

The ALCP believe that Mr Oliver would fit well in the party, due to his strong ecological principles and business ethics. His Oxford background would also set him up well for a political career with the ALCP, who have agreed to offer Oliver a top ranking position on the party list, in return for his endorsement.

Mr Oliver is stunned at the proliferation of intensive dairy farming in New Zealand and is concerned about the impact of these farms on the environment. The introduction of Hemp Farming initiatives is the ideal solution to this problem. Regulating and taxing cannabis, New Zealand's third favourite drug, would add over a Billion dollars to the economy annually, making Cannabis Law Reform a huge political issue in New Zealand.

Anton Oliver's reply:

Hi there, I must say I was very surprised when I went into my inbox this morning and found your email. I'm very flattered that you think I'd be a worthy candidate for ALCP and while I'm sympathetic to green issues I don't know if those sympathies extend as far as ALCP would like! So I must humbly decline you offer but wish you all the best in your endeavours.

Kindest Regards

Anton Oliver
