Community funding dates change

Community funding dates change

Application dates for community group funding in Auckland city have changed due to the transition to the new Auckland Council later this year.

As a result, Auckland City Council is distributing all of the Community Board Discretionary Funding over the next few months, instead of throughout the whole year.

The second round of the Community group assistance fund and the Community group accommodation support fund is also currently open for applications.

Please note, these are the last funding rounds for Auckland City Council.

The funds and their closing dates are as follows:

Community Group Accommodation Support Fund – closing date Friday 11 June
This fund aims to provide financial assistance to community groups to help meet their rent, rates, leases and ongoing venue hire.

Community Group Assistance Fund – closing date Friday 11 June
The assistance fund aims to ensure that a wide range of community activities, projects, programmes and events are supported at a citywide level.

Community Board Discretionary Fund – closing date Friday 20 August
Community boards have a limited budget to assist groups, initiatives and events that make a positive contribution to communities at a local level through their discretionary fund.

Auckland City Council provides support to community groups in a range of different ways one of which is by providing grants to help groups deliver services to their community

Application forms are available from our website www.aucklandcity.govt.nz or by calling 379 2020.
