Housing NZ appoints Spotless Preferred Supplier - maintenance contract for 12,000 properties


Housing New Zealand has appointed Spotless Group Limited (ASX/NZX:SPT) to preferred supplier status for the building maintenance contracts to maintain 12,000 residential properties in South Auckland 1 (including Mangere, Mangere East and Manurewa) and East Auckland (Glenn Innes, Panmure and Otahuhu).

Spotless Group Managing Director and CEO, Josef Farnik said this contract will leverage Spotless’ experience of managing nearly 80,000 housing properties in Australia and New Zealand to deliver world class services.

“Spotless is committed to growth in New Zealand and recently listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange. Upon being awarded this contract it will enable Spotless to further invest in New Zealand, employ local people and build on the recent Department of Corrections win,” Mr Farnik said.

The scope of work comprises plumbing, electrical, painting, bricklaying, tiling, glazing, building and related services delivered by accredited tradespeople, trades assistants and labourers.

Contract finalisation is due in the coming week/s with the contract commencing on 1st July 2010. The contract will run for two years, with an option to extend for a further two years, subject to performance.
