Q+A takes a look at politics across the Tasman – Guyon Espiner will talk to Australian Labor Party strategist and insider Bruce Hawker live from Sydney about Kevin Rudd’s demise and Julia Gillard’s rise to PM. What’s been going on behind the scenes and what does this mean for the trans-Tasman relationship?

Paul Holmes interviews ACT leader Rodney Hide. With the ETS starting next week we’ll look at the politics of climate change and we’ll ask how ACT’s going in its first term in government and what it’s ambitions are before November next year.

We also talk to last year ‘s Blake Medal winner John Hood and this year’s winner (due to be announced tonight). What marks out a successful leader and what’s the secret of their success?

Joining Dr Jon Johansson on the panel is former Green MP Sue Bradford and Business New Zealand CEO Phil O’Reilly.
