One Month Left to Have a Voice

One Month Left to Have a Voice

“Auckland residents who don’t enrol within one month of today will lose their voice”, say Councillors Cathy Casey and Glenda Fryer, City Vision candidates for the Albert-Eden-Roskill Ward.

“We have confirmed with the authorities that the last day for residents to enrol in order to receive voting papers for the Supercity elections will be August 20. That is just one month away. People unsure of their enrolment status should call 0800-367-656 or go to www.elections.org.nz ”, says Councillor Casey.

“The clock is ticking and we are deeply concerned that there are still tens of thousands of Aucklanders who have not yet enrolled. We will be throwing ourselves into ensuring that local residents enrol before August 20”, continues Councillor Fryer.

“There is so much at stake in this first Supercity election. We need to keep our assets publicly owned, get Auckland moving through better public transport, and give local communities a voice. Residents can only vote for that future if they get enrolled now”, concludes Councillor Casey.
