David Rolfe Acting CE at PCC
Mayor Jenny Brash and Councillors have decided to appoint David Rolfe as Acting Chief Executive of Porirua City Council when Council CE Roger Blakeley leaves next month.
Dr Blakeley leaves on 19 August 2010 to take up his new job as Chief Planning Officer at the new Auckland Council and Mr Rolfe will act until a new CE starts.
David Rolfe is the Council's Environment and Regulatory Services General Manager.
Mayor Brash says she is pleased at the Council's decision.
"It is the unanimous view of Councillors and myself that Dave Rolfe will do justice to the role and enable the ongoing smooth running of the work of the Council. He has our full support and we look forward to working with him until the new CE starts - hopefully by early December."
Management of the Environment and Regulatory Services team while Mr Rolfe is Acting CE is yet to be determined.
