Investitures return to Government House Wellington

Cooking author Dame Alison Holst, golfer Sir Bob Charles, businesspeople Sir Michael Hill, Sir Bill Gallagher and Jan Cameron, writer Sir James McNeish, philanthropist Sir Ray Avery and football coach Ricki Herbert are among more than 120 people to be honoured at Government House in Wellington this week.

Sir Bob will receive New Zealand's highest honour, the Order of New Zealand, whose ordinary membership is limited to 20 living people, while five new knights or dames will be invested.

The Governor-General, Rt Hon Sir Anand Satyanand, and Lady Susan Satyanand, will host six ceremonies at Government House Wellington on Tuesday 12 April (10am and 2.30pm), Wednesday 13 April (10am), Thursday 14 April (10am and 2.30pm) and Friday 15 April (10am). The ceremonies are the first to be held in the House since its closure for a major conservation project soon after the last ceremonies were held in September 2008.
