Lion's $15mill Investment in Canterbury Great News

The Food and Grocery Council today congratulated Lion for its announcement that the company will invest a further $15 million in its Christchurch facility situated in Christchurch's central business district.

“It is no doubt a great boost for Christchurch to see major New Zealand companies like Lion reinvesting and doing their part to assist with the rebuilding of the city”, said Katherine Rich, CEO of the New Zealand Food and Grocery Council.

"Following the opening of the state-of-the-art brewing facility "The Pride" in Auckland last year, this is yet another significant announcement by Lion maintaining its constant investment in New Zealand's food and beverage industry.

Today's announcement will certainly be another important step forward in the food and beverage industry's recovery from the impact of the Christchurch earthquakes", Mrs Rich said.
