Party emerges to appeal to discontented voters
New party Your NZ is making an appearance, whose aim is to address the widespread discontent of voters. Many people are unhappy with politicians and want something different. Your NZ is offering something seriously different, it will be up to voters to decide if they will change how they vote.
Your NZ is a non-aligned party that supports independent parliamentary candidates. The party is offering two major differences, one at electorate level, and one at party list level.
Electorate MPs will have two priorities. Number one is to communicate with and represent the people and their electorate, the second is their standard parliamentary duties. They will have minimal party commitments. Each electorate can act independently based on it’s own needs.
The Electorate MPs will conduct regular public meetings combined with an innovative form of Interactive Democracy utilising social media. For issues important to the electorate this will also include electorate polls and possibly referenda, so they know what the majority wish of their electorate is. The MPs will pledge to act and vote on the majority wish except in exceptional circumstances.
Your NZ aims their Party List higher level, for party leadership and management. The List group will develop an ongoing issue and policy evaluation system that will combine feedback from the electorates with facts and the best ideas available. They won’t be constrained by traditional ideology.
Many people have had a gutsful of excessive attacking and mudslinging. Your NZ will pledge to promote positive politics and will pledge to support the government of the day and work with all parties for the good of the electorates and the country.
Your NZ has established an online presence in a website and blog, and will utilise social media to keep connecting with people, including after the election.
“Who is there worth voting for?” Your NZ acknowledges it may pick up some of the protest vote but is sure it offers enough of a difference to earn support as a positive choice rather than a last resort vote.
Your NZ promises to challenge the status quo and inject something seriously different into the election campaign.
