Did ratepayers pay for Bob Harvey to meet Tony Blair?

Did Auckland ratepayers foot the bill for Bob Harvey to meet Tony Blair?

Conspicuous by their presence at the corporate lunch for warmonger Tony Blair yesterday was the Chairperson of Auckland Waterfront Bob Harvey and his chief executive John Dallzel.

Tickets to the event were anything from $495 to $1500. Did these men pay for this dinner themselves or did they dip into the public purse and get Auckland ratepayers to pay?

GPJA has written to the Auckland City Mayor Len Brown to ask if Auckland taxpayers met the cost.

Of great irony is that Harvey is also the immediate past President of the New Zealand Peace Foundation. What was he doing going to listen to the man responsible for conducting an illegal war against Iraq and the subsequent war crimes which resulted in hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians losing their lives?
