MMP Review Public Hearings in Auckland on 2,3 May

The Electoral Commission comes to Auckland next week, with two days of public hearings on the MMP review being held on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 May.

“After successful hearings in Wellington this week, we’re looking forward to hearing submissions in Auckland,” says Chief Electoral Officer Robert Peden.

The hearings will take place at the Auckland Environment Court, Room 2.01, Level 2, 41 Federal Street, Chorus Building on 2 and 3 May, 9.15 am to 5.00 pm.
Members of the public are invited to attend the hearings, although submissions will only be heard from those already scheduled to appear.

“The hearings are a good opportunity to hear the opinions of others, particularly if you’re still undecided,” says Mr Peden. “Written submissions are welcome until the end of May, so there is still plenty of time to make your submission.”

A full schedule of presenters and times will be available on www.mmpreview.org.nz later this week.

“Call 0800 36 76 56 or visit www.mmpreview.org.nz if you want more information about making a submission,” says Mr Peden. “Information is available in English, Maori, Tongan, Samoan, Chinese and Korean, and submissions can be made online, by email, or by post. There is still time to have your voice heard.”

Written submissions to the MMP Review close on 31 May.
