When will it ever end?

Why is it that New Zealand is the only country that refuses to recognise the social cost of rising electricity prices?, Allen Davies, chair of Grey Power's Energy Committee asked.

New information from the International Energy Agency Agency shows this clearly.

All other countries responded to the recession by reducing household electricity prices in the last two years. New Zealand alone has continued the relentless upward trend of the prices.

New Zealand is the only country that does not regulate electricity as an essential service. It allows household consumers to bear the entire cost of increasing capital and fuel costs of electricity regardless of their ability to pay.

Grey Power asks: when is Government going to do something about these rising power prices?
