Save TVNZ7 Announces Flurry Of Activity
TVNZ 7 has less than ten days to go. On July 1st New Zealand will be without a public service television channel for the first time since TV began in this country. We may not be able to save TVNZ 7 but we aren’t letting it pass unnoticed.
Save TVNZ 7 have four public meetings across Auckland over the next few days, a march in Wellington on the 28th to present the petition (more than 31,000 signatures), and a march in central Auckland on the 30th of June to mark the last day of transmission.
North Shore
meeting
Tomorrow (Fri) Bomber Bradbury will
“moderate” a panel of Labour MP Phil Twyford, Greens
Broadcasting Spokesperson Julie Anne Genter, NZ First MP
Andrew Williams and media expert Trisha Dunleavy from VUW.
Trisha grew up in Takapuna and is flying up specially for
the meeting.
Friday 22 June, 7-9pm,
Milford Bowling Club, 20 Commodore Parry Rd, Castor Bay,
North Shore.
Orewa meeting
On Sunday
afternoon it’s an Orewa meeting of a different kind as
Bomber Bradbury moderates Darien Fenton (Labour), Julie Anne
Genter (Greens), Tracey Martin (NZ First) and Wayne Hope
(AUT).
Sunday 24 June, 4-6pm, Orewa
Community Centre, 368 Hibiscus Coast Hwy, Orewa.

On Monday evening we
coming southside with Bomber Bradbury moderating Clare
Curran (Labour), Julie Anne Genter (Greens) and Dr Peter
Thompson (VUW)
Monday 25 June, 7-9pm,
Wiri Community Hall, 11 Inverell Avenue, Wiri.
West Auckland meeting
And the last
public meeting is on Tuesday in the foothills of the
Waitakeres. Bomber Bradbury moderates Phil Twyford (Labour),
Wayne Hope (AUT) and Barry Wilson (ex-BBC and TVNZ
reporter).
Tuesday 26 June, 7-9pm,
Oratia Settlers Hall, 569 West Coast Road, Oratia.

Advance notice - Save TVNZ 7 protest marches
Wellington 28th June - 12pm Civic Square. March to Parliament to present the petition.
Auckland 30th June - 4.30pm Queen Elizabeth Square, Downtown Auckland. Funeral procession and protest march up Queen Street and Victoria St West, past TVNZ and ending at St Matthew-in-the-City. Bring a candle or a bunch of flowers.
