All-of-Government contract for travel services
signed
The All-of-Government contract for the procurement of travel management services has now been let by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
Five companies were successful in the
tender:
• Flight Centre (NZ) Ltd
(trading as FCm Travel Solutions)
•
Executive Travel Ltd (trading as HRG NZ)
•
House of Travel (Wellington) Ltd (trading as Orbit Corporate
Travel)
• Air New Zealand (trading as
Tandem Travel)
• Atlantic and Pacific
Business Travel Limited.
The contract covers the full range of travel management services, including account management, travel booking, reporting and assisting with travel policy compliance.
The Ministry, which will be managing the contract, is now working with government agencies to complete the sign up process and transition these agencies to the contract.
The initial contract runs from 25 June 2012 to 24 June 2015 (with two rights of renewal of two years each thereafter).
This contract will assist the realisation of the significant benefits available through the All-of-Government Air Travel Agreements and soon to be commenced Accommodation and Rental Vehicle projects.
All-of-Government contracts establish a single supply agreement between the Crown and approved suppliers for the supply of selected common goods and services purchased across government.
These contracts deliver a range of benefits to agencies, suppliers and, ultimately, the New Zealand taxpayer. These benefits include: cost-savings to agencies, the government and taxpayers; productivity gains for agencies and suppliers; and improved competition.
