EU expert on Arab Spring and Burma in Wellington, 8-9 Nov

Helga Schmid is coming to Wellington on 8 & 9 November. She is the Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service, the EU's foreign policy service.
Ms Schmid is a highly experienced crisis diplomat. She currently leads the European side in negotiations with Iran over its nuclear programme. Other areas of expertise are Syria & Turkey and the countries of the Arab Spring, territorial disputes in South China Seas and Senkaku/Diaoyu as well as Burma.
She will be giving a public talk on 8 November at Lecture Theatre 2, Rutherford House, Pipitea Campus, VUW and is also available for interviews or commentary.
