Farmers congratulate the new Labour Party leader and his team

Federated Farmers looks forward to working positively with the new Labour Party lineup under its new leader, the Hon David Cunliffe and Deputy-Leader, the Hon David Parker.

“Having awaited the new line-up, Federated Farmers wishes to formally congratulate David Cunliffe on his appointment as leader of the Labour Party,” says Bruce Wills, Federated Farmers President.

“Mr Cunliffe is no stranger to the Federation given his previous Ministerial and parliamentary roles. I also understand he is penning an article for our next National Farming Review, which is due out early next month.

“I know farmers will be keen to get more insight into how he sees the primary industries.

“Federated Farmers is pleased to see the Hon Damien O’Connor reappointed as the Shadow Minister for Primary Industries. Perhaps this creates a chance to host the Labour team on-farm.

“To Federated Farmers, building off our primary industries into allied fields and services represents a huge opportunity for New Zealand; both domestically and internationally,” Mr Wills concluded.
