Phillip John Smith’s Victim Speaks Exclusively to Campbell Live

The survivor of a horrific home invasion and three years of sexual abuse at the hands of fugitive Phillip John Smith talks exclusively to John Campbell tonight on Campbell Live.

At the age of 13 he witnessed Smith murder his father, stabbing him 19 times with a hunting knife. Now the victim speaks with Campbell in Australia about his experience of being held hostage, Smith’s brazen and unbelievable escape to Chile and Brazil, and his safety fears amid the absence of police protection.

In his first television appearance since the escape almost a week ago, Ray Smith, Chief Executive, Department of Corrections, will also appear LIVE on the show to address questions around the Department’s actions and failure to contact the victim.

Both full interviews will be available from 8pm at www.3News.co.nz/CampbellLive
