Nurses head to mediation with District Health Boards
The New Zealand Nurses Organisation and
District Health Boards were unable to reach a settlement at
their negotiations for a collective agreement
yesterday.
“Nurses, midwives and healthcare assistant members of NZNO voted a decisive “no” to the DHBs offer and yesterday’s meeting with the DHBs was another attempt to reach an agreement,” says NZNO industrial adviser, Lesley Harry.
“Although progress was made, we were unable to fully bridge the gap between the DHBs’ offer and what NZNO members think is fair.”
“The next step is Employment Relations Authority mediation, which we hope will take place at the earliest opportunity.”
