‘Significant changes’ to jobs the last thing Council needs

‘Significant changes’ to jobs the last thing Christchurch City Council needs

The Public Service Association (PSA) is against the proposal released today that would see 175 roles Christchurch City Council (CCC) roles disestablished, with only 115 new roles created.

Angela Collier, PSA National Organiser, said "Constant restructuring of Council jobs isn’t going to help CCC deliver the services Christchurch needs during the rebuild,"

"For some of the affected teams it’s been less than six months since the last time they were restructured.

"This proposal has cost $219,000 for consultants so far, and seems to be a part of a trend in local government to spend on reorganisation.

"Christchurch needs stability and council workers need job security to be able to provide essential services to their community," said Angela Collier.
