New Zealand Pilots Association digesting legal ramifications of Jetstar Court of Appeal decision
The New Zealand Air Line Pilots’ Association (NZALPA) is continuing to digest what the legal ramifications are for the aviation industry, following Friday’s Court of Appeal decision, ruling in favour of Jetstar Pilot Richard Greenslade.
Air Line Pilots’ Association Acting President Tim Robinson says the process our member, Richard Greenslade, has gone through has indeed been a tough one, but there is still a long way to go.
“We are continuing to digest the information, but on the surface it appears that there will be legal ramifications for some 200 Jetstar and Qantas subsidiary Jetconnect pilot members.” First Officer Robinson said
“This has been a great result so far, but the Union now needs to address the consequences of the decision directly with Jetstar, to ensure that all our potentially affected members receive the entitlements that the Court has ruled they should. This will take time and possibly more litigation to achieve”.
NZALPA represents 2,500 Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers
