New chair and directors appointed to ACIL

Auckland Council has approved the appointment of three new directors to the board of Auckland Council Investments Limited (ACIL).

The council’s CCO Monitoring and Governance Committee approved the appointment of Keith Taylor as Chair and Linda Robertson and Hinerangi Raumati MNZM as directors of ACIL at a meeting on September 23.

Keith Taylor is chair of Gough Holdings and deputy chair of the Earthquake Commission as well as sitting on the boards of a variety of organisations including Southern Cross Medical Society and Port Marlborough. He was CEO of Tower Limited.

Linda Robertson’s directorships include Dunedin City Holdings and King Country Energy. She was previously Corporate Treasurer of Contact Energy and Group Treasurer of Meridian Energy.

Hinerangi Raumati is chair of Parininihi Ki Waitotara and on the boards of enterprises including Te Ohu Kaimoana and Aotearoa Fisheries. She was previously Chief Financial Officer at Tainui Group Holdings. Hinerangi has tribal affiliations with Ngati Mutunga and Waikato.

Mayor Len Brown and Deputy Mayor Penny Hulse, who chairs the CCO Monitoring and Governance Committee, have paid tribute the broad range of governance, financial and investment managerial experience the three new directors bring to ACIL.

ACIL manages Auckland Council’s major equity investments including:

• Ports of Auckland Ltd (100 per cent owned)

• Auckland International Airport Ltd (22.4 per cent owned)

• Auckland Film Studios Ltd (100 per cent owned).
