SST Backs Ministers Call on Gang Drug Dealers

Sensible Sentencing Backs Ministers Call on Gang Drug Dealers

3rd March 2016

Sensible Sentencing Trust is calling on Black Power member Denis O’Reilly to front up with the cold hard facts or crawl back under his rock. Scott Guthrie: Sensible Sentencing Trust

Guthrie said. "O’Reilly, who is a lifetime member of the criminal gang Black Power yesterday laughed off Police Minister Judith Collins statement that gangs are joining forces to deal methamphetamine to our school children but failed to front up with any evidence to prove they aren’t."

"O’Reilly’s comment that Gangs aren’t dealing in drugs is a total contradiction of the truth and that is supported with factual evidence. Let’s go back to 2013 when Police launched Operation Maggie where 18 Black Power members were arrested on charges of participation in an organised criminal group, robbery, burglary, possession and manufacture of methamphetamine, wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and attempting to defeat the course of justice."

Guthrie added, "Another example of just how community friendly Mr O’Reilly’s Black Power thugs are was in 2014 when another Senior Black Power member was sentenced in the High Court in Auckland for wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, aggravated robbery, receiving stolen goods, conspiring to import drugs, supply and possession of methamphetamine."

"Gangs are costing new Zealand millions of dollars per year in criminal activity and gangs are manufacturing drugs and distributing it on the street and Minister Judith Collins is right on the money with her statement of yesterday and Sensible Sentencing trust backs her and any Government Minister who is prepared to stand up to these thugs."
