Government is transferring programmes and funding from Ministry of Social Development to support Whānau Ora
Te Pou Matakana Chair Merepeka Raukawa-Tait has applauded the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) for taking a co-investment approach to support whānau.
This morning it was announced that MSD funding and programmes will be transferred to Te Pou Matakana to support Whānau Ora.
“We are delighted that for the first time a major Ministry has seen fit to co-invest with Te Pou Matakana as a Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency,” Merepeka said.
“This is a significant vote of confidence in our Whānau Ora approach.”
“We look forward to working with other government agencies to co-invest with Te Pou Matakana that will result in empowering our whānau to achieve Whānau Ora outcomes.”
Merepeka said she could not comment on the detail of the existing contracts as that is a matter between MSD and providers. We are awaiting details from MSD so that we can quickly inform our communities.
