"Talking tough on crime and
actually getting tough on crime are two totally different
scenarios and it appears the criminal fraternity have
twigged to the fact that the Government has lost the stomach
to make public safety its paramount consideration.”
McVicar
Prepare for more police shootings as crime increases is the advice from the founder of the Sensible Sentencing Trust.
McVicar was commenting on figures released by New Zealand First that the number of offences recorded by frontline police has ballooned by over 40,000 offences every year since 2008.
According to figures released by New Zealand First Associate Police Spokesperson, Darroch Ball, raw data from frontline police operations shows that the number of offences committed has increased exponentially every year since 2008.
Mr Ball said “In 2014 the government changed the way crime is recorded so that the total number of criminal offences are not centrally recorded - nor are resolution rates.”
McVicar said he was very disappointed that the National Government, which got elected on a tough-on-crime ticket in 2008, had been apparently fiddling the books to make it appear that crime was falling.
“It is obviously no coincidence that the recent spate of Police shootings coincides directly with the fact that frontline police are in fact experiencing an increasing level of crime."
"The chart below is conclusive
evidence of the increasing problem frontline police are
facing on a day-to-day basis.”

“More innocent people will become victims of crime and more police shootings of crimials will be the ultimate result.”
