Auditor-General's draft annual plan published

The Auditor-General’s Draft annual plan 2018/19 was presented to the House of Representatives today.

The Auditor-General is required to consult the House of Representatives each year on a draft annual plan that describes the Office’s proposed annual work programme. This consultation helps to ensure that the Office’s work is relevant, responsive and useful to Parliament, public entities, and the public.

This year we have revised aspects of how we present our work programme to more clearly represent the diverse range of work that we do, and to show its alignment with The Auditor-General’s strategic intentions to 2025.

Procurement is the theme we are proposing for our theme-based work in 2018/19 and the following two years. The public sector spends about $42 billion each year procuring goods and services. Over the next three years, we plan to examine the governance, management, and effectiveness of procurement activity in the public sector.

We will consider any feedback from select committees, public entities or the public on our draft annual plan and incorporate it as appropriate in our final Annual Plan 2018/19, which will be published before the end of June 2018. Send us your feedback before 1 June 2018 by using the feedback form on our website, or by emailing reports@oag.govt.nz.

We’d like your feedback: Our online reports include a link to a feedback form. Please tell us if you found our report useful.
