Māori Party congratulates Bentham Ohia's new appointment

The Māori Party congratulates Bentham Ohia on his new role as Chief Advisor Iwi and Māori Education Relationships at the Ministry of Education, and farewells him from his short time as Vice-President Tāne for the Māori Party.

Che Wilson, Māori Party President said "we have reluctantly accepted Bentham's resignation, but absolutely support him to take on this new role. We know that our short-term loss is our peoples long-term gain as Bentham continues to shape a better future for generations of whānau through using his knowledge and skill to shape the governments agenda of support for Māori education."

The role will remain vacant until filled by appointment by the Māori Party National Executive.

"We are confident that we will find another equally awesome person to take the role on, and continue to look forward to the future," said Mr. Wilson.
