Vandalism Of Religious And Community Places
At a time of the unfolding human tragedy of genocidal scale in Gaza, we urge that all concerns should be expressed through legitimate and peaceful means, which include protests and advocacy, said Ibrar Sheikh, President of the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ). There is no place in Aotearoa for desecrating community and religious places, as was recently reported of the Jewish community centre and synagogue, Epsom, Auckland. FIANZ condemns this act of vandalism.
All places of religious gathering such as Synagogue, Churches, Mosques, Temples and Gurudwaras where communities gather to seek solace and comfort must be respected, said Ibrar Sheikh.
