Torch Passed To Brown Bigot
Libertarianz Deputy Leader Dr Richard McGrath today slammed calls by the politician formerly known as John Delamere for racial quotas in the public service. "The loathsome legacy of Hendrik Verwoerd (former South African Prime Minister and architect of apartheid) continues to flourish in New Zealand," he claimed, "firstly under Doug Graham, and now under the loathsome Mr Delamere."
Dr McGrath, meanwhile, praises Springbok coach Nick Mallett for comments he made several weeks ago, resisting pressure from racists to place a few token dark-skinned people in his team. Says McGrath: "I admire him for his courage in opposing the politically correct notion that a person's skin colour, - an accident of birth - should qualify them for a job, or a place in a team, ahead of someone else more deserving."
"There are ominous parallels between what Mr Delamere proposes and what the Afrikaaners did in the 1960s, filling public service jobs in South Africa with Boers to strengthen apartheid's iron grip on that country," McGrath says. "Delamere has apparently modelled his political career on that of Hendrik Verwoerd. Perhaps he might recall that Verwoerd's life was ended by an assassin's knife, as he defended to the death his racist beliefs."
