Bunkle: Champion Of The Ugly

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bunkle: Champion Of The Ugly

"The Alliance forge ahead into a whole new galaxy of politically correct absurdity, boldly going where no man has gone before," said Libertarianz Deputy Leader Richard McGrath. "Phillida Bunkle is now the self-proclaimed battler for 'ugly rights'."

Dr McGrath was reacting to Ms Bunkle's absurd advocacy in yesterday's Sunday Star Times of an Employment Equity Bureau devoted to weeding out 'lookists' - i.e. employers who chose their staff on the basis of looks.

"Employers have a hard enough job these days without another legion of brainwashed feminist bureaucrats causing unwanted irritation. For goodness sake, let ugly people fight their own battles There is no law broken when someone simply acts irrationally," McGrath explained, "as long as the rights of others are undisturbed. A boss who chose his employees from a subjective assessment of their physical appearance, rather than on merit, would be the victim of his own stupidity."

"Libertarianz are disappointed in the Employers' Federation for their capitulation to this PC madness," McGrath added. "They say the existing laws against discrimination are common sense. In fact they are garbage, and we would repeal them instantly on becoming government."
