Procurement Process
AUCKLAND, Monday November 27, 2000– Leading Internet Integrator gen-i limited (formerly Wang New Zealand) today announced that it has expanded its management team with the appointment of Don Gellert as Operations and Supply Chain Manager. The appointment reflects gen-i’s new operating direction and will see Don assume responsibility for managing both operational and strategic issues associated with the business’ supply chain process in Australia and New Zealand.
In taking on the role, Don will primarily be responsible for streamlining the company’s entire procurement process to ensure cost efficiencies and performance improvement goals are realised for both gen-i and its growing customer base.
“My role is to primarily enhance gen-i's supply chain, while maintaining the high level of service and customisation for individual clients' procurement and asset management requirements,” says Gellert.
“gen-i is leading the market in terms of developing procurement services for our strategic clients,” says General Manager of Procurement, John Bessey. “In order to drive our business forward we need to continually strive to work better with our partners through a more efficient supply chain. Don's role allows him to continue the already significant progress he has made in this area for gen-i."
Prior to his new appointment, Don held positions as Purchasing Manager as well as Product Delivery Manager for the company. In these roles he was responsible for managing the purchasing team, overseeing the product component of major projects for a number of the company’s blue chip clients and ensuring in full and on time completion of product deliveries.
He has also been a sales representative for Ubix, QED Software and has also worked previously in a finance role managing the rental portfolios for gen-i limited.
