Compaq ProLiant Servers To Support Latest Intel Processor

AUCKLAND, March 28, 2001 - Compaq Computer New Zealand has announced support for the new Intel Pentium III Xeon 900 MHz processor on its next generation 8-processor and 4-processor industry-standard ProLiant servers.

Available in New Zealand from late April 2001, Compaq anticipates a rapid take-up of the increased performance offered by the 8-processor ProLiant 8000 and ProLiant 8500 and the 4-processor ProLiant ML570 and ProLiant DL580.

"The next generation ProLiant servers will provide superior solutions for the high-end server-based computing required by complex e-Business applications." says Jeff Healey, Industry Standard Server Product Marketing Manager. "We expect the increased performance of these servers to be picked up quickly by our corporate customers looking to extract the best performance from their high end systems."
