Media Release 24 April 2001

COMPAQ ACCESS BUSINESS GROUP STRUCTURE ANNOUNCED

AUCKLAND, April 24, 2001 - Andrew Seerden, Director Access Business Group, Compaq New Zealand today announced the structure of the newly formed business group. The Access Business Group is a result of the recent global merger between the Compaq Commercial Personal Computing and Consumer Groups.

The Access Business Group will manage the Deskpro, Presario, Armada and iPAQ ranges as well as the 'cool' entertainment products which include Compaq's award winning projector range and new MP3 players.

The Access Business Group will also be responsible for managing Compaq's commercial channel partners, distributors and retailers.

The Access Business Group comprises three business units:

* Corporate Access, responsible for managing Compaq's range of innovative products that address the needs of its global, large and medium size companies.
* Home and Office Access, responsible for Compaq's range of rapid refresh, innovative products for consumer, home and small to medium business customer needs.
* Access Products and Services, responsible for 'cool stuff' such as iPAQ handheld products and connected devices and also for growing 'above the box' revenue streams.

"I believe there are enormous opportunities to be gained by merging the two groups into the single Access Business Group" says Andrew Seerden. "I am very excited to be able to lead the new team. The amalgamation signals a great step forward to consolidating the way we go to market, as well as maximising our cost base for greater efficiency."
