Compudigm/Cedar Deal- Changing Company Knowledge
MEDIA RELEASE 9 July 2001
Compudigm International and Cedar - Sign Visualisation Solution Agreement
Compudigm International™ and Cedar Enterprise Solutions Limited™ today announced they have joined forces to create a ‘first of its kind’ document management visualisation solution. This technology will revolutionise the way in which organisations get access to, and value from, their documents.
The solution, which will be called CVM/seePOWER Visualisation, will enable organisations to easily and rapidly see in picture form (visualisations), what documents they have and which ones are relevant. No longer will staff need to spend hours looking for documents on a particular subject and then give up in frustration. Pictures are easy to understand and quick to interpret – that is the secret to this solution.
The solution will be a collaborative effort of Compudigm’s revolutionary seePOWER visualisation software and Cedars CVM. Through the use of non-spatial, self organising maps the solution will organise the abundance of documentation within organisations and visualise both content and knowledge.
Andrew Cardno, President and CEO of Compudigm, says the company is looking forward to working with Cedar.
“Together Cedar and Compudigm are changing the way the world sees company knowledge through creating a solution that combines visualisation technology with knowledge management”.
“We are developing a solution which enables organisations to view their documentation in a very simple and user-friendly manner. By turning documentation information into pictures, we have revolutionised the way business professionals view and manage their documentation knowledge and content” says Cardno.
“Organisations create new documents every day – for large organisations, this can exceed 100,000 objects a day. This solution will enable organisations to manage and get real value from these documents.”
“The partnership of world class technology with a market leading knowledge management organisation will drive considerable business opportunity worldwide for both organisations. Leveraging Cedar’s 45 offices in 11 countries with CVM/seePOWER Visualisation is an incredible way to market for us”, says Cardno.
Marlo Valente, Product Manager for Cedar’s CVM said: “This new technology will bring enormous benefits. Knowledge is power and organisations will be able to manage and get real value from their information. We are very excited to be working with this unique visualisation technology.”
CVM/seePOWER Visualisation will enable Cedar to deliver information to customers in a clear, concise manner as well as displaying hidden relationships in the mass of available corporate information.
“In such an emerging market,” explained Valente, “we are pleased to be working with the proven experience of Compudigm.”
Telstra used seePOWER last year at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games to create another world first - visualising the demands on the mobile network and dynamically reconfiguring the network to manage the unprecedented number of calls made during the event. This was highly successful and Compudigm won a Smithsonian Laureate for this solution.
Compudigm’s seePOWER solution is also installed at a number of large Casinos and Government organisations world-wide.
