gen-i appoints security specialist
AUCKLAND, Thursday,
August 23, 2001 – Internet integrator gen-i today announced
the appointment of security architecture specialist David
Hunter.
gen-i networks manager, David Spratt, said New Zealand companies were just coming to grasp the real importance of enterprise-level security but unfortunately there was a shortage of highly skilled security professionals.
David Hunter, who will focus on broadband Metropolitan Area Networks, security architecture and data management, previously worked in the security field with Axon Computertime.
“David is an expert in his field, having worked on security projects for large financial services companies and high profile government organisations, Mr Spratt said. “Companies now realise that security is more than just having a firewall. David brings an architectural view to security rather than a single device view.”
David Hunter will work out of gen-i’s Auckland office, but will be available for the company’s projects both in New Zealand and Australia.
