Veda Ltd Nominated For A TUANZ Award

Veda Ltd (www.veda.co.nz) has been nominated for a TUANZ award for their work in developing New Zealand’s first e-commerce portal for key client iStart (www.istart.co.nz). The awards will be announced at a function at Te Papa on 1 December 2001.

Veda provided consultancy services to finalise the overall online strategy, developed the brand, developed the website and managed ongoing relationships with content management system providers, E-cision.

“The iStart website was one of the more challenging jobs we have undertaken,” said Ben Northrop, director of Veda Ltd.

“First we had to fully understand what iStart’s vision and objectives were, and then we had to translate that vision into a unique online presence. iStart insisted that they were looking for an innovative technology partner able to think ‘outside the square’ and who would stay with them for the long haul. Since we prefer to develop long term strategic relationships with our clients, it was a challenge we were more than prepared to take up.”

iStart aims to provide people in business with an independent industry ‘hub’ where they can research and increase their knowledge of e-business and associated products and services. It can be thought of as an online ‘expo’ where New Zealand’s leading providers ‘display’ their e-business and e-commerce solutions.

The site is also packed full of regularly updated local and international e-business news, trends, industry developments, seminars and upcoming events.

TUANZ Award Category: Information/reference The best example of interactive media for information gathering, sorting and presentation. eg. collaborative/workflow applications on an Intranet or public access to information via CD-ROM and web. This category includes all interactive mediums.
