exclusive Lord of the Rings event
WELLINGTON, Thursday
20 December – New Zealand’s largest Internet integrator,
gen-i, has invited clients, suppliers, and charities to an
exclusive screening to the Lord of the Rings.
gen-i, along with some of its key partners (Citrix, Toshiba, Hewlett Packard and Microsoft), will host one of the first New Zealand screenings of “Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring," at the Embassy Theatre on Thursday 20th December 2001 - one day after the official New Zealand premiere at the same venue.
With “Ring” fever mounting, gen-i expects a full house of 830 people for the exclusive occasion.
“We were looking for an end-of-the-year event where we could say ‘thank you’ to people for the support they have given us this year,” says gen-i CEO, Garth Biggs.
“Given the anticipation and excitement that the Lord of the Rings has generated over the past year, and the overwhelming interest by the public in general, we thought this would be ideal.”
According to Ross Hamilton, gen-i’s General Manager Sales, this event also caps off an excellent year for the company in Wellington.
“Over the past 12 months we have grown our client base designing successful software and hardware solutions and implementing best practice business methodology.
“While none of our projects have the scale of Lord of the Rings, we believe we have made a contribution to Wellington’s growing digital economy. For instance, in June we completed a project to give New Zealand Milk Products’ (ex NZ Dairy Board) marketing, management, research & development divisions the ability to find and access detailed business and scientific information from anywhere in the world.”
gen-i specialises in the provision and support of hardware, software, networks, e-commerce sites, procurement and intranets and extranets for its clients.
gen-i is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cullen Investments Limited. gen-i's blue chip clients include Air New Zealand, Carter Holt Harvey, Department of Corrections, Department of Internal Affairs, Fencepost, Fonterra, Milburn Cement Limited, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, New Zealand Milk Products, Ravensdown, Simpson Grierson Law, The Warehouse, TranzRail and WestpacTrust.
