Condolences Book for Crop & Food staff

ACRI and the Life Sciences Network will open a condolences book this afternoon for scientists and other members of the public who wish to convey their support for the staff of the Crop & Food Research Institute in their time of grief.

The book wil be available in the offices of ACRI and the LSN on the 5th floor of Gleneagles Building, 69-71 The Terrace, Wellington from this afternoon. Anyone who wishes to sign is welcome.

Contributions to Crop & Food condolences books and cards for families

Crop & Food staff are putting together messages of sympathy and support for the families of the staff who died in the air crash on Friday night. Many of the deceased had children and Crop & Food staff members would like the grieving children to know the high regard in which their parents were held by colleagues and the wider community.

Contributions to the specially bound condolence books, on A4 paper, can be forwarded to Miriam Marshall at Crop & Food Research, Private Bag 4704 Christchurch. Miriam will also forward on to families any condolences cards which are sent to Crop & Food for the families.

Funeral and Memorial Service arrangements

Funerals notified so far are:

Margaret Viles, Wednesday 11 June - 1p.m. at St Barnabas Church, Fendalton Road

Howard Bezar, Wednesday 11 June - 1.30 p.m. Hornby Community Presbyterian Church, Amyes Road

Richard Finch, Wednesday 11 June - 2 p.m. St Mary's Anglican Church, Church Square, Addington

Michael Bannerman, Thursday 12 June - 1.30 p.m. Westpark Chapel, 467 Wairakei Road

The arrangements for the Memorial Service will be notified later.
