HP and Oracle Announce New Record-breaking Benchmark Results on 4-processor HP Integrity rx5670 server
NEW ZEALAND, AUGUST 6, 2003 - HP AND ORACLE CORP. today announced the world-record benchmark result of 824,164 transactions per minute (tpmC) on the Transaction Processing Council's TPC-C benchmark.[1] This result raises the bar on commercial transaction processing performance with the first ever system, clustered or non-clustered, to eclipse the 800K tpmC barrier.
HP Integrity Superdome with 64 Intel(r) Itanium(r) 2 processors 6M (code-named Madison) running the 64-bit HP-UX 11i v2 operating system and Oracle Database technology outperformed all competitive offerings for transaction processing, while also delivering a leading system price to performance ratio of US$8.28/tpmC.[1]
HP and Oracle also announced record-breaking performance results for the 4-processor HP Integrity rx5670 server, further demonstrating the superior performance of HP Integrity servers and Oracle Database technology across a diverse range of workloads and operating systems.

HP Integrity rx5670 Server World Record TPC-C Results HP and Oracle achieved the fastest ever 4-processor TPC-C transaction processing benchmark result of 131,639 tpmC[2]. With a price to performance ratio of $7.25/tpmC,[2] the companies also established the best ever price to performance ratio of any 4-processor server on the market. The record-holding configuration was produced with a HP Integrity rx5670 server running Oracle Database technology and Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3.
HP and Oracle also announced the leading TPC-C benchmark result for a 4-processor system running UNIX(r). The HP Integrity rx5670 server running HP-UX 11i v2 and Oracle Database technology, posting a result of 131,639 tpmC[3] with a price to performance ratio of $7.25/tpmC,[3] beating all previously published UNIX-based server results.
HP Integrity rx5670 Record Result for Oracle Applications Standard Benchmark HP and Oracle also established a new world record for the Oracle Applications Standard Benchmark (OASB) on 4-processor systems. The HP Integrity rx5670 running HP-UX 11i v2 and an Oracle database achieved 6,440 concurrent users, with an average response time of 0.6 seconds.[4]
The companies also produced the best ever 4-processor OASB result for a Linux-based server, achieving 5,992 concurrent users, with an average response time of 0.6 seconds[5] running Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3 and Oracle Database technology. Both the 4-processor UNIX and Linux-based operating system results exceed all other 4-processor system results across all other architectures on the market.
