Pathlore Names Sales Director to Drive Market Share in New Zealand and Australia

AUCKLAND, 4 February 2004 - Pathlore Software Corporation, a provider of learning-management systems (LMS), has appointed David Hobbs as director of sales - New Zealand and Australia.

Pathlore has tasked Hobbs with boosting overseas revenue in the Western Pacific, and adding customers to the list of clients the software maker serves in the region. As of 2003, 36 percent of Pathlore's international customers were located in New Zealand and Australia.

Hobbs will also strengthen the regional relationships Pathlore has with content and service partners such as LogicaCMG, NETg and Centra.

"The increasing pressures of corporate governance, legislative compliance and risk management have intensified demand for better management of employee training," says Hobbs. "The majority of training in New Zealand is still delivered through the face-to-face model, which is time and resource intensive, and rarely tightly managed. Our aim is to help local organisations improve efficiency and cut costs by tapping managed e-learning and blended learning."

For example, Pathlore client PNC Bank, among America's top 20 financial institutions, saved more than US$900,000 - and improved training effectiveness - by replacing three days of classes with a "blended course," which consisted of a one-day class and two hours of online training delivered by the Pathlore LMS. This approach not only reduced the cost of instructors and facilities, but also the amount of time the bank's employees spent away from work. And the Pathlore LMS, which delivers and tracks corporate training over the Internet, updated transcripts for the bank's trainees with the status of the workers' skills, competencies and certifications.

Before that, he spent nine years in a variety of senior management positions within interBiz, the eBusiness Applications Division of Computer Associates, including business development, professional services and product support in the Pacific region.
