Fliway and CS Company Pick Microsoft* Business Solutions-Axapta* to Improve Business Management

Koorb Consulting, Microsoft New Zealand's Largest and Fastest Growing Axapta Partner, Implements New Solutions to Deliver Efficiencies in Both Companies

AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Monday, 24 May 2004 - Transport solutions company Fliway and CS Company, the country's largest independently-owned marketer and distributor of fragrances and cosmetics, are the latest New Zealand companies to take advantage of Microsoft Business Solutions-Axapta to improve business processes. Auckland-based technology company Koorb Consulting managed both implementations and is the largest Microsoft Axapta partner in New Zealand, supporting 12 of the country's 27 customer sites.

Fliway Modernises ERP System with Microsoft Axapta

Craig Magee, Managing Director for Fliway, which comprises four separate companies offering transport, logistics and courier services, says Fliway replaced its 15-year-old legacy financial solution with Microsoft Axapta this month to modernise its IT systems, and more importantly, provide staff with better business insight. He cites flexibility, open architecture, R&D investment, ability to support a multi-company environment, strong product support, and seamless integration with other Microsoft and third party software as the main reasons the company chose Microsoft Axapta over competing products such as SAP, JD Edwards and Peoplesoft.

"Microsoft Axapta provides our management team with real-time access to an overwhelming amount of business information and on a daily basis," says Magee. "We also expect to cut down significantly on administration time, and any job costs incurred will be captured within both inventory and operational systems to ensure accurate reconciliation."

Magee adds that Microsoft Axapta, which Koorb Consulting customised to better meet the company's unique job costing requirements, is well-suited to manage its many complex business variables such as volume and kilos. "With Microsoft Axapta, we now have the tools to really move the business forward."

Microsoft Axapta Key Enabler to Business Growth at CS Company

Ray Guilford, Financial Controller for CS Company, also agrees that Microsoft Axapta, which went live in April, will enable the company to make more informed business decisions by providing timely information, as well as streamlining its financial, warehousing and sales order management. CS Company has experienced immense growth over the last five years, doubling its revenue, and Guilford says the company's previous disparate business systems could not cope with the rapid expansion.

"Microsoft Axapta will eliminate a lot of re-keying of data," says Guilford, "because our business information is now stored within one central location."

In particular, Microsoft Axapta will deliver significant efficiencies within warehousing and the order picking and packing process.

"We'll be able better manage stock inventory, reduce internal costs and, more importantly, improve service to customers. Microsoft Axapta is also architected in such a way that we'll be able to upgrade the product to future versions cost-effectively and without any hassle."

Microsoft Axapta Poised for Significant Market Growth

Nicholas Birch, Director at Koorb Consulting, says Microsoft Axapta is ideal for the New Zealand marketplace and the company has grown its Microsoft Axapta customer base by 50% over the last 12 months, with plans to sustain growth at the same rate this year.

"Microsoft Axapta is a key focus of growth within our business," says Birch, "and we've already grown our team locally on the back of the product's success last year. It's a very flexible and powerful solution that contributes significantly to the success of our customers, such as Fliway and CS Company."

David Guy, Partner Group Manager for Microsoft Business Solutions New Zealand, says the division is set to grow at a rate of 30% over the next financial year, with the majority of growth planned for Microsoft Axapta.

"The market continues to respond favourably to Microsoft Axapta," says Guy. "We recently hosted an 'Axapta Bootcamp' attended by more than 25 people to expand the number of Microsoft Axapta consultants within our existing partner organisations."
