Auckland University of Technology and Reach Wireless Launch Campus Wi-Fi Zone Using RoamAD Technology

AUCKLAND, New Zealand — July 29, 2004 — RoamAD, the supplier of world-leading metropolitan Wi-Fi networks and campus hotzone infrastructure, today announced that AUT and Reach Wireless launched a campus Wi-Fi hotzone using RoamAD technology.

The AUT Reach Wireless Wi-Fi Zone is operated by Reach Wireless and is open to the public, with AUT students and staff getting special discounted rates of NZ$16.95 per month for mobile VoIP and wireless data access at speeds of up to 2Mbps.

“We are very pleased to be able to cost effectively provide such good Wi-Fi coverage throughout the campus using the RoamAD technology” said Wendy Bussen, AUT’s Executive Director for IT Services.

The network was designed in one day and deployed in less than a week.

“RoamAD was pleased to be able to efficiently provide a cocoon of Wi-Fi at AUT with the software based solution being easily configured to meet the needs of both Reach Wireless and AUT” said Craig Cameron, CEO, RoamAD.
